And it's the worst because I work with kids. I seriously put my foot in my mouth on Friday at work with one of my students. I have been concerned for her because she seems depressed lately, and rather than me just asking her that, I somehow made her think she was in trouble. Who the hell does that? So now I have to try and talk to her again to clear up that she's NOT in trouble and that I was just concerned and wanted to know if everything was ok. But of course, a parent is involved now and my foot keeps getting crammed further into my mouth

i have been known to suffer from this as well. it happens to us all.

It will be fine. Just explain to the parent that you were concerned for their child. I'm sure that they will understand.

My brother in law has the worst case of foot in mouth disease....he asks women all the time when are they due, when in fact they are not pregnant!

I'm sure things will be ok with this student.
