I just got called into my bosses office...
and she told me that the tank top i am wearing today does not follow the office attire.   ok, first of all...it is not spagetti strap...it is one of those long,high neck, tank tops from old navy and i am wearing another tank top underneath it with gauco's with a belt around my waist...how is that inappropriate??? how is that different from the sleevlesss shirt the girl that sits next to me is wearing, which shows her cleavage? Such bull!!!! To top it off it is 10000000 degrees in here the AC is not on. I hate dumb office crap!!! Give me a break!!! They try to enforce stupid dress code policies now? I've been here 4 years and seen people come to work in jeans, flip flops, mini skirts and even sweatpants. I love how my tank top gets in trouble. un-friggen real.

what kind of office do you work at? it could be too trendy and come across as "un professional'
i know that v-necks are allowed in my office but cotton tank tops are not.

not that i know of. 
it's just lame office politics at it's best, that's all. So stupid. I have no problem following a dress code, I just don't like feeling embarrassed about it because i broke it

So how come bosses are offended by clean people who just wish to stay cool but say nothing to the stinky ones who wear the same stuff every day? I find that MORE offensive than a tank top.

I was told once at my old job that a tank top was inapprpriate, yet my boss who told me that loved to wear mini-skirts all the time.  I was so ****** at the time, but you just have to laugh at how stupid people can be. I wouldn't even worry about it.
