Is it too early to start buying?

Is it too early to start buying things? I dont think I am having a shower and just the thought that the baby will be here in about 4 months is freaking me out. I was thinking of going to babies r us this weekend and stocking up on onesies, washclothes, possibly bottles, just to put my mind at ease that we have some "stuff."

My dh and mom both say its too early but just thinking of everything that has to be done (a lot of work on the house, buying all of these things, etc.) has me a nervous wreck. Do you think its too early?

not its not too early. Go for it if it will put your mind at ease. I'm due in august too, and myChat Icon has enough clothes to last the first month at least.

Re: Is it too early to start buying?

I dont' think it's too early. I wanted to start buying things after my level II but DH and I kept saying let's wait to see what people get us.

Well my poor littleChat Icon has no coveralls, pjs, one piece comfy outfits for when she comes home. Everyone so far has bought her cutesy summer dresses, and 3-6 months clothes.

DH and I have to go out this weekend and pick up all the comfy stuff. Now we are kicking ourselves in the booty for not picking up slowly over the last couple months.

maybe you're having a surprise shower. That may be why they are saying that it's too early to buy stuff.

I dont think at 4 months you have to worry about having that stuff on hand - it only takes an hour to go to BRU and get that stuff, even at 9 months preggo. But if you would enjoy getting some things for your baby, I dont think its too early. Im not superstitious about buying stuff. RU find out the gender? b/c if you are, I'd definitely wait.

I'm also due in August. I haven't started buying anything, I probably won't do that until right before. I did register though, that was fun! Chat Icon
