OK - you girls are making me SICK!

All your babies are sleeping long hours at night and I'm still just excited when I get a 3 hour stretch!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon What is your day like? Maybe I'm overstimulating him??

Last night he had a crying FIT for 3 hours 5-8. He ate at 8,9&10 and finally fell asleep, and did sleep until 3 - but I think it was a fluke because he exhausted himself from crying so long. And he was sleeping with me - not in his bassinet.

So, help me! I'm sleep deprived! What are you doing that can help me???Chat Icon

Re: OK - you girls are making me SICK!

My son didn't sleep through the night until after he was 3 months old. For the most part, I would put him down between 8-9pm, he'd wake up at 3 or 4 am for a feeding and then up again between 7-8 am.

Nate will be 5 months tomorrow. We follow the EASY method (eat, activity, sleep, you) from the Baby Whisperer book. Also reading Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Baby also gave some good tips to get him on a schedule now. After 2-3 hours of being up he is usually ready for a nap even if it's only a 30 min one. Our day usually goes like this

7 am wakes up, gets bottle, diaper change
9 am morning nap
11 am bottle
1 pm afternoon nap
3 pm bottle
5 pm late afternoon nap
7 pm bath, bottle
8 pm bedtime

The times when he's not napping we're doing some activity - tummy time (now rollover time), activity gym/mat, toys, baby einstein video.

IT will get better. Putting him on a schedule takes some time. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
