They're flat out walking into the bedroom!!!
Roaches, waterbugs, whatever the hell you wanna call them, they're the same friggin thing and they soooo don't want to be in my home!!!! I've got one bad boy trapped. He was on his back waving his legs. Alarm went off and that's what I wake up to! This is 3 since last week. W T F???
We clean, we vacuum, we put dishes in the dishwasher, we empty the garbage. Why are they in our apartment??? We're on the 4th friggin floor!!! Seriously, is it the heat??? Do we need to crank up the A/C?

Sometimes if your neighbors have a problem with the bugs/roaches..it could become your problem..
I hate bugs... and know what you are going through..my cat usually finds any spiders or bugs crawling around..

Queens! And the funny thing is that the exterminator was called in about 2 weeks ago because I saw them dead in the stairwell. NOW, after the exterminator is called, they're traipsing around our apartment!!!

it's probably someone else in the bldg. Those bugs start in one apt and then radiate to all the others ALL the time!

Also make sure that you drains are pluged. Keep the strainer one in the kitchen sink close the bathroom sink and tub when not in use. if there is no stopper that goes down buy one. This is a big way of them coming into your apartment.

EWWWWWWWW!!! I'll def. keep the kitchen one in there. The tub has the screen guard on there. I'll look into the bathroom sink one!

My sister moved to Queens in January and had a horrible roach problem, also on the 4th floor.
It turned out to be the woman on the ground level who has Alzheimer’s or something like that and she has about 20 cats and never cleans her apt. she moved out a few months later into another building that the landlord owns a few blocks away. She has no problems now.
Unfortunately, when you’re neighbors are pigs, everyone suffers

I know!!! On our floor, we have very clean people, but who knows who is below us. I love our building, but you'd be surprised as to who lives here!!!

Re: They're flat out walking into the bedroom!!!
If your building was exterminated chances are that the roaches needed somewhere to go and spread out into the apartments. We had that happen when the garbage shoots were exterminated in our building. It was so bad for a couple weeks I thought we were going to have to move. But it ended just as abruptly as it started. Haven't seen any in months. Of course we also put traps everywhere. Our building also provides exterminating to each apartment once a month. Have you asked if they will do this for you? Good luck, I know how disturbing it is to put so much effort into keeping your apartment clean and still having to deal with this.

Re: They're flat out walking into the bedroom!!!
We had these in my apartment when I first moved in. I found one in the middle of the night when I was 8 months pregnant. Pretty picture me trying to catch and kill it with a wooden spoon.
Anyway have the exterminator spray your apartment. This way when you find them they will be dead, thats much better- cause those little buggers are fast. We also read that boric acid keeps them away so we sprinkled that around.
These arent roaches, even though they look like roaches on steroids. I dont think they have anything to do with cleanliness.
But thank goodness and knock on wood they have never gone in my bedroom, that is my safe haven.
Good luck- I know how you feel
