Once you are in labor and get admitted the admitting nurse will ask you who you want and they will get yellow bracelets to indicate they are your coaches.

I had my Mom in the room when I had my son (at Winthrop) and they said whoever was in the room had to stay in, that they couldnt go in and out. I dont know if your Mom being there for the labor and then leaving for the actual delivery is considered "going in and out" but I specifically remember them making that statement. Ask your OB to be sure.

Re: winthrop delivvery room who do you tell who you want in the room?
My twin sister had 4 people (her DH, my mom, my older sister & me). It wasnt' planned that way. The midwife asked one of us to leave & I did (because my older sister called it first - just like calling the front seat when we were younger...). My twin started yelling "Where is my sister? Get her back in here!" and they came running for me. I was told to stay in the corner & not move since she wanted me there.
So while they may have a limit, if you want more than one, it's your call. At least that's the way it was when she had her daughter at Winthrop.
The doctor/midwife controlled how many people.
