2 things that happened
1. I went for a massage yesterday and told the masseuse why I was there - had just had IVF and was trying to relax. Stay away from lower back and abdomen. I said "I don't know if you know what IVF is but..." and she started to cry - her partner had just gotten a BFN that morning. I felt so bad.... So of course we spent the whole massage taking about IUI and IVF and REs...was't really the relaxing experinece it was supposed to be. But it made me realize, the more open we are about this, the more people we find who can relate. I did feel so bad upsetting her...
2. Then, I went to Target to return stuff. Cashier is babbling with the customer in front of me about kids' first day at school. Customer leaves, I walk up, she continues the conversation as if I am the same lady --"oh hahhahaha you know how they get -- ha ha ahhaa he wouldn't let go of mommy -- ha ha you know what I mean -- " I first smile tensely, hoping she shuts up. But no, she keeps going (who does this??) so finally I say "No, I don't know what you mean. Goodbye." It was very upsetting, and inconsiderate. And I don't get upset all that easily - I mean I go to baby showers,I walk through baby sections, I can go to BRU...but this just really hit me...

Re: 2 things that happened
As far as the first thing is concerned, that's great that you and the massage therapist shared. I love that you were able to open up to one another. No, not exactly the relaxing, let it all go, forget about all this stuff massage you were looking for, but you got something else from it. Another connection that you're not alone. I think that's great.
As far as the Target thing is concerned, I just hate people sometimes. So damn inconsiderate. Sorry you had to experience that.

Kara I am so sorry, I know how you feel. I usually am OK with things like this too but latley I cant handle it. Last week when we had a drug addicted pt pregnant with her second set of twins I lost it at work.
Oh and did I tell you I met Ryans after school teahcer on Tuesday. And she is about 8 feet tall with a 10 month pregnant belly that was just about eye level?? Couldnt miss it if I tried

Re: 2 things that happened
I sometimes find that when I open up to people I feel better. The funny thing is that I am selective with who I tell but I find complete strangers are easier to talk to. LOL YOu probably helped that masseuse in some profound way and I am sure it helped you both realize that you are not alone.
As for Target, yep, I get that all the time and depending on my emotional state, i either let it go or reply with some snappy comment. Usually, I just let it go.
