OMG im getting induced tonight..please help!!
they are inducing me at like 6 but they are giving me something that starts with a C i think..to help me go into labor on my own? which may take 12 hours..then tomorrow something like getting pitocin? im so overwhelmed right now and i dont know what im expecting from this..they said i will be in over night but my dh might want to go home for a few hours? has anyone been through this?please help..i leave in like 1 hour..im so nervous.. THANKS GIRLS.. IWILL BE A MOMMY SOON..THATS THE BRIGHT SIDE

I was induced and it went quite smoothly, so don't worry too much about it. The only thing is that it can take a few days, for me it took 3 days of the prostin gel to get my cervix ready for my waters to be broken. The good thing is that your baby will be nice and cooked!!! All ready to come out! I would suggest getting your epidural early, because once you get on that drip..those contractions come hard and fast!!

I was induced due to low amniotic fluid on my due date. At that time I was 1-2cm dilated and 50% effaced. I was admitted into the hospital at 4:00 on Thursday. I had the first round of cervidil at 6:00pm. The first round did not work for me. My doctor checked me the next morning and decided to give me a break. The second round of cevidil was administered at 6:00pm on Friday. This round worked and by 11:00pm, I was feeling painful contractions. I had an epi at 4:00am and pitocin at 6:00am. My doctor broke my bag of water at 10:00am but there was pretty much nothing left. I had my son at 2:30pm on Saturday. I have no regrets about the induction process. My son is very healthy. Don't worry.
My husband stayed the whole time. He only left after the baby was born.

Don't worry...I was also induced and I delivered my son less than 24 hours later (I told my husband that I was ready for baby #2 like 2 seconds after I delivered---that's how smooth everything went!!)---they usually begin with cervadil and then move onto pitocin. Just try to relax, the more at ease you are the better it will be for your body to cooperate! Your baby will be here before you know it!!
