Re: Lake George?
If you do a search for Lake George on the Travel board, a few people ahve gone. Maybe you can FM them and ask them where they stayed.

Re: Lake George?
If you want to stay at a nice hotel..stay at the SAGAMORE
sagamore
they sometimes have specials on travelzoo. But this is the best place on lake george IMO
They have boats, an indoor or outdoor pool, a steamboat floating restaurant, spa, many restaurants, a golf course etc,....
I grew up in lake george, it's a lot of fun in summer months, but come fall, it will start to get boring
Good luck in deciding on a trip...

Re: Lake George?
I personally LOVE the Holiday Inn up there. I find it's the cleanest in the area. I recommend getting "lake view" which also has a patio & the pool. The back side doesn't have a little patio. They also have a restaurant in house and it's near (not in, but near) the village & lake.

Re: Lake George?
The Sagamore will cost you a fortune and you may not be happy taking a 5 year old there......what about the Fort William Henry? A little more reasonable and they have a full service newly renovated hotel. It's in the heart of LG too.....

Re: Lake George?
The Holiday Inn is definitely the nicest and cleanest. Most of the other hotels in the area are little on the older side and not so nice. I prefer the chains anyday!
