I went to the doc on Monday and I was still on 1cm dilated so they sent me to Stony brook to have cervidil put in place which is supposed to help soften the cervix before being induced. I started contracting at 12am and at 8:30am on Tuesday my water broke. When they checked me that morning I was still only 1cm dilated and having contractions every 2-4 mins. They started pitosin at 9:30am. At 12 noon I was 4cm and got the epi. For the next 2 hours i felt no pain! Then the pressure started and gradually got worse. My doctor checked me at 2:30pm and I was 7cm. For the next 2 hours I was in a lot of pain and was waiting to get to 10. I had the overwhelming urge to push and the doc checked me at 5:30 expecting for me to be at 10cm, but I was still only 7cm. Her head came all the way down and she was ready to be pushed out but my body wasn't. At that time and after almost 19hours in labor we decided to go for the c-section. Parker Jane was born at 6:45pm. The section was pretty scary for me and I was very nauseous from all the meds. I don't remember much of being in the OR. Once I got her in my arms it didn't matter how she got here just as long as she did!!  Dh and I couldn't be happier! Thanks for everything over these very long 9 months.
