strollers for traveling

Jacob wil be 8 months when we travel in May and I was just wondering what type of stroller you used when you were traveling.

Our regular stroller is the zippy and I just feel it is way to big to bring with us with the carseat we have to bring on board...

Any suggestions??? I went to Buy Buy Baby and they were trying to sell me another $200 stroller, that was definately not happening

I always used a lightweight umbrella type stroller, with a decent sized basket if possible. We have traveled with Andrew by plane to MD, FL and went to DisneyWorld last April when he was 11 months. We used our Chicco London stroller, which was nice because he was comfy in it, he could sit up or recline, and it was so easy to fold up when you got the gate of the plane to check. We got it as a gift, it was about $60-70 I think.

I just bought a Chicco Stroller this week. It was $60 at BRU. We're coming to NY next week and I wanted a lighter stroller since DH is not coming with us.

That was the one I was thinking about getting. It was $80 at Buy BuyBaby but I will definately go to Babies r us since it is cheaper there...

We have the Chicco C5 we used when flying.
It was around 70-80 bucks

I also recommend Chicco. We had the Tuscany (very similiar to the London) when we went to PR in May and it was great. I also recommend Chicco as a company I had a problem with the stroller long after the trip I called customer service and they sent me a brand new stroller no questions asked! I just needed to provide them with some ID #'s.

I just ordered a Chicco Tuscany from ebay. It is discontinued so it was only $50 including shipping (I thinkt he regular price was somewhere around $80-$100). It got the highest rating on that baby ga-ga website. I don't have it yet so I can't tell you any details - I'm just going on the reviews.

I bought the Combi for travel. I was about $100 but it folds up with a strap for easy carrying, weight nearly nothing and is comfy for my little guy

We also bought the Peg Perego and I love that for trips when I will need a little more cargo room, but again it's very pricey

I found the little umbrella strollers to be just too flimsy. I bought one from the One Step Ahead catalog for $139 I think. I hated to spend that much, but it was worth it. It's very lightweight, still has a little basket under, and a good canopy, and it has a shoulder strap so you can carry it through the airport. The only thing is that for some reason when I pull her out of it, her shoes get stuck in the leg holes; I don't know why. I wound up using it as my only stroller for the mall and going out places. My graco was so much heavier, it just stays in the garage for walks around town, or my husband takes it when he goes out.
