End of the school year party
which one do you think is better for my 5th graders? I dont want to say anything to them I want it to be a surprise!

Pizza will be a lot easier- ice cream has the potential to be very messy and a lot more involved. I always do pizza parties, in part because I find the clean up a lot easier.

Pizza - Its not as messy, its filling, and they won't have a sugar rush after 
Also Ice cream is alot more hands on - more work for you
Do Pizza and an ice cream cake

Well, I do agree, but unless you have a classroom with A/C, the kids will end up WEARING most of, and so will you!

Cut really small pieces 
are you friendly with any of the class moms? Im sure they would be more then happy to bring the soda, and chip in for the cake!

Does your school have a pizzeria they order from all of the time? My high school does and they give us a discount per pie as long as a teacher order the pizza.
I agree, pizza is so much easier and you don't have to worry about what kid likes chocolate, who can't have chocolate, etc.

personally, I would love to do ice cream. realistically though, I had quite a few diabetics this year - so pizza all the way!
ETA: if you do decide on ice cream - you need to be very careful about bringing anything with nuts in it!!

I had a make-your-own sundae party for the students who participated in Banana Splits this year. I surprised them and they had so much fun making their own sundaes. It was cute.
