I hate the Post Office (long vent...)

I put in a request 2 weeks ago to change my address as of November 26 to our new one in Raleigh. Last Thursday and Saturday we did not get any mail. I was not concerned b/c I thought maybe our landlords did not bring it in since they were in and out a lot. Then we get a call from DH's grandma on Monday that a letter she sent us came back undeliverable and address unknown. (We did not have mail again on Monday). I could not believe this. Not only was it not forwarded, it was sent back address unknown. DH went to the post office yesterday and they gave him a number to call. He had to work with the annex building. So he calls the number and they say to call back in the morning to speak with our carrier. What our carrier has to do with this I have no idea but ok. So he calls this morning and the guy he speaks to says he will handle it. He calls DH back within 10 minutes to tell him he has no idea why we are not getting mail. He sees in the computer to change our address as of November 26. He will ensure we get our mail today and look into it further for us. Well guess what, I get home today and NO MAIL!!!!

I am fuming mad. I wish they were open right now so I could go there and get this straightened out once and for all. They had it made with DH on the case and should have handled it while they had a chance to deal with a nice guy. I, on the other hand, will not be nice or easy on this. I could be missing bills and everything. I wish we did not have to be so dependent on this monopoly!

I think I had to fill out a card THREE times before they finally started to forward it. Luckily my old landlords were friends and saved everything for me to pick up, or they mailed it themselves.

I would rather that then my mail disappearing into thin air. I had checks coming to me from some things I sold online and ebates. I am so mad!

We had so many problems also. We just kept going directly to our PO and speaking w/ a sup. We spoke to our carrier also and he was the one that ended up handling it. The sup was useless. It took about 7 times of contacting them before we finally started getting mail consistently. Try asking them if you need to contact a postal inspector to investigate to make sure that someone isn't stealing your mail. Who knows what will work.

5 years later and I still get mail forwarded to my dads that is suppose to come here!!!! I give up!!!!

Don't you wish you had a choice in mail companies like you do in other delivery services?????

I hate changing my address..... When i got married and moved out of my parents house I did a change of address and they sent me all my parents mail.... They were getting no mail and I was getting everything....It was a good thing I only lived a town away.......
