Am I feeding Kevin Wrong? Veggies? Maximum amount of formula per day?
He is 5 months old and just started on veggies.
He's been getting 6 (5 1/2 ounce) bottles per day and I give him about 1 tablespoon of oatmeal in the morning and then 1 tablesppon of barley and 1/2 tablespoon of veggies at night.
We just started the veggies and the doctor has us on the "1 veggie for three days" plan until we get through all of the stage 1 choices and then we start on the fruits.
Do you give them solid food separate from their formula because I would think he would need something to wash down the food with?
How much formula per day at the maximum are baby's supposed to get. I've read not more thean 32 oz but also they can max out at 40 oz?
Kevin weighs 16 lbs.

I odn't think there is a wrong to this - it is what works best for you and baby.
My Kevin was eating more than that by that point. My dr gave me the rule of thumb of more than 32 oz a formula a day - increase solids. Less than 24 oz decrease solids. I got that rule at the 5 month appt. I can't remember exact amounts but he was eating more than a tablespoon and at least 1-2 jars of fruit/veggie a day. I know by the end of the 5th month we we already doing full jars of stage 2's. As for cereal, I increased that as he handled it which was pretty quickly.
But I also started fruit in the 4th month which is earlier than you started the jarred baby food.
