Determining the sex of the baby via ultrasound
At 16 weeks or so, what should we expect to see if girl ? boy ?

They say you can determine the sex of the baby until 20 weeks. That is when you go for your anatomy sonogram and they can tell you the sex of the baby, if they can see. Some times the baby will have its legs crossed or just not in position. Trying to tell the sex anytime before 20 weeks can be in accurate, because the vulva on a girl might not yet be closed & the sex could appear to be a boy, because the cliterus will aprear as the penis, giving you the wrong sex. Sonograms are not 100% accurate, so I would be careful going to early. Good luck!

I went for a sono at 17 weeks and they told me it looks like a boy but there not 100% accurate. When I went for my 20 week sono they said it's 99.9% a girl.

at 13 weeks they told me they think it's a boy, but we have to wait until 20 weeks to be sure!

I definitely wouldn't go out buying pink or blue off a 16 week ultrasound. It could always be right but I think the odds are a lot less.

I thought 20 weeks was a good time to find out but I have heard that they are more sure if they think its a boy because they see something but with a girl guess they could be wrong.

They told me at my 20 week sono that we were having a boy. It was confirmed at a 23 week sono in the hospital.

What 3 lines ? the ovaries ? Is that what the sonogram would display ?

I found out at 14 weeks it was a boy, it was clear as day.... there was no mistaking it!

The 3 lines are the 2 lips and the middle line is the opening for the vagina.
