I didn't since it was just immediate family and my DH family is from Indiana where they probably have never even heard of a favor at at Christening.

You don't have to. I am having a small Christening also (35 people) and I am doing favors. It's not necessary though.....

I had a big Christening party and I didn't give favors. I have never been to a Christening and received a favor.

I had the same amount of people, I gave out favors. You don't have to...I don't think people are going to expect you to either.

We're going to have about 35 people and I'm doing small favors (chocolate cross lollipops). I figured since they're fairly cheap (about $20 for all the supplies/chocolate), they'd be cute to give out.

You definitely don't have to! We made a CD (and lollipop centerpieces) for #1 and had photo cookies made for #2. Nothing extravagant!

I am glad that people said no. I was so torn about this and my child isn't even born yet. We will be inviting about 175 people so I couldn't imagine spending a lot of money of favors.

WE had a small family celebration for my son and did not do favors. We will do the same with our daughter this summer too - no favors.

We just had Roman's Christening with about 41 people and didn't do any. Not necessary IMO.

I did something small. I bought the tulle bags at the dollar store, put Hugs and Kisses in them and tied them with a tag with a saying about thank-you for coming. It was cute but not a big thing at all.

You don't need at all. I only do it because I follow people like sheep. Everyone else did it, so did I.

Re: Do I have to give a favor at my son's Christening?

I also did chocolate cross and other type of lolipops. most people dont expect big favors at christenings. the baby is the gift that they all get to see basically as corny as that sounds its the truth most people just want to go to enjoy the day with your child and you.
