Drinking at Lunch Time

just wondering,

does anyone have cocktails with lunch?
my office has a restaurant/bar in our building. it is commonplace to have a few drinks with lunch. My company is very laid back and no one cares.

I think it depends on your profession.

Re: Drinking at Lunch Time

you buying?

ETA: if i did drink at lunch, 95% of the time that would be at my desk, and I think that's frowned upon at most companies...

Re: Drinking at Lunch Time

No- since I dont tend to go out for lunch anyways.
We are pretty laid back here too but wouldnt do it.
We did have an ex employee do it within a wk of working here and he couldnt hide it since he had leftover alcohol scent coming out of his mouth. Noticed I said ex-employee Chat Icon

Re: Drinking at Lunch Time

When I worked in the city, my favorite thing to do with friends was stop at Old Town Tavern and enjoy a beer or Bloody Mary with lunch. I did return slightly sauced on a few Fridays...but no one knew.

Re: Drinking at Lunch Time

I think I only did that once with my boss because he was doing it too. We had sushi and sake.

I don't, although when I worked in the city at an investment banking firm, everyone would go out and have a few drinks at lunch,.

I don't, but some people here do once in a while. it isn't abused, as far as I can tell.

Never, although with my classes this past year, no one would have blamed me if I did. I think some of my seniors were on their lunch period off, so why not?... JUST KIDDING.

I often joke that ninth period, we need a rolling bar cart, to go down the halls and make the teachers a drink. Advanced classes never run ninth period so there are lots of "yahoos" in class that would drive anyone to drink.Chat Icon
