Fireplace cover thingy???

I don't know what you call it... but the cover that goes in the front of your fireplace that has the doors on it. What is it called? I'm having preggo brain! Chat Icon

Anyway, we need to take our's down to paint it and put it back up. I just have no clue as to what we need to put it back up? Chat Icon Right now it looks like there is some tacky stuff and insulation stuff holding it on? I know I'm clueless! Chat Icon

Does anyone know where I can buy that stuff so we can put it back on? Thanks!

A fireplace screen? You can buy a new one for about $80 or you can use a masonry bit on the drill and drill it in to the fireplace

It's a bit more than a screen I think? Chat Icon To replace the one we have would be at least $200. I guess it is a screen, just a permanent one.

I think they still call it a screen. We got ours from Lowe's - it has glass doors, and the metal screen on the inside. It was around 200-300, and we mounted it into the brick.

ETA: Is this what you are looking for? Lowes Fireplace Screen with doors

They had a greater selection in the store than they do online. But this is similar to what we ended up getting.

Yes... it's similar. I just don't know what we need to get to install it again?

Re: Fireplace cover thingy???

DH and his friend installed it themselves. They needed a masonry bit for the drill, and I think special screws to be able to drill through the bricks.
