How important is the recline feature....

...on your high chair?

I am looking at a high chair that is wooden and has a cushion so I guess its comfortable but it doesnt have a recline feature....do I really need this?

I use the recline all the time right now. I think when they are small it is very important.

I never used the recline feature, Its dangerous to feed a baby solids reclined anyway they could choke. I never gave him a bottle in the highchair either. I didnt use my highchair until he could eat solids at 4 months.

While I don't use it all the time, I couldn't imagine my child having to sit perfectly upright all the time either. My highchair is actually at a very slight recline ... not a 90 degree angle, and I am glad I am able to use that feature!

Re: How important is the recline feature....

Never used it, my DH has when he feeds DD the bottle but I love holding DD in that baby position so I hold her to feed her the bottle (she doesn't let me hold her in the baby position any other timeChat Icon ) So it's not the most important option..

I personally don't think it's important. We've never used it. We only started using the high chair when he started solids. I never give him a bottle while sitting in the high chair.

I only used the recline when my son was small and actually wasn't even eating solids yet. We just liked having him at the table with us. It probably isn't necessary.

My highchair is on a ever so slight recline. DD does not sit straight up and I find it easier to feed her this way.

I use it because my daughter seems to have the knack for falling asleep while eating. So once I know there is no food in her mouth I recline her back and let her take a little nap Chat Icon

When we started solids they were not fully upright, it seemed very uncomfortable, now we use it so they can sitl in the highchair for a bit longer when we eat and are more comfortable. Also at times they fall asleep and take a 30 minute nap in the high chair right after lunch whilewe are feeding the other one.

I like the recline feature. She will sit and drink her bottle while reclining. She is not laying flat, just not up straight.
