Re: How to wash a stuffed animal

you can only spot clean it with a wet soapy rag.

However, you can fabreze it, or stick it in a plastic bag with potpourri or something that smells good!

At the laundro-mat, I saw a machine full of them.

They were all warm and fluffy out of the dryer.

I put the kids stuffed animals in the washer and dryer. They come out great, and they get cleaner that way rather than spot cleaning.

I was thinking that, but what if its not dry in the inside? Think it could get smelly? I wouldn't put it back in the basement.

I throw the stuffed animals in the wash too. If it has any stains on it, I usually spray Shout on it first, I then put it in the wash with woolite

Re: How to wash a stuffed animal

I would hang it out on a nice day to air it out or spray it with Fabreeze or put it in the dryer on a very low setting with a Bounce sheet

Also, make sure he's superdry, otherwise the inside will stay wet and get all stinky. (It'll smell like mildew after a little while)

Re: How to wash a stuffed animal

I guess it just a personal preference, but all of the tags on my stuffed animals say "spot clean only".

I have washed them in the washing machine but I put them in a pillow case and tie up the picllow case - not sure why but I read that somewhere as a tip to keeping them nicer in the wash.

Wash them in a pillow case, and then dry it. It will come out fine.
