If you pumped to increase your milk supply
How often did you pump and how long did you have to keep pumping for? My DS is 10 days old and my LC had said every 3 hours. My DS nurses every 3 hours and he usually will eat for about 25-30 minutes on the first side and then sometimes he doesn't want the second side, but other times he will nurse on the 2nd side for up to another 30 minutes. I feel like my milk suppy is sufficient. He has enough wet and soiled diapers. I feel like I don't really need to be pumping, but I don't want to stop. Honestly, I have only been pumping about twice a day because it's just so time consuming. When do you know that it's okay to stop pumping?

When is your next dr's appt? If he is gaining a sufficient amount of weight, then you know you have enough milk. Also, you can tell if he's eating enough based on the number of wet adn dirty diapers. If you're really unsure, I'd call the dr and ask.

Re: If you pumped to increase your milk supply
From Friday to Monday he gained 8 ounces. We go back again on Tuesday. He usually has about 8 wet diapers and 4 soiled diapers a day so I think he is getting enough. I think I'll call the LC and see what she thinks.

Re: If you pumped to increase your milk supply
I nursed one side, pumped the other for one feeding - and then switched for each feeding. It essentially doubled my milk. Also make sure you're staying hydrated & eating enough.
Fennel tea (with honey - it's disgusting on its own) also helped.

I think honey is one of those things "not to have" during pg and bfing

It sounds like you're doing fine on your own without pumping. If he only nurses from one side then I would just pump from the other.
