maternity support advice

I am 22 weeks and I'm having a lot of lower back pain and sciatic pain. My OB suggested I should get a belt. Does anyone have the same problem and if so whats the best belt to buy.
Thanks

i'm 22 weeks also and my sciatic pain is getting really bad. if you get a belt, let me know if you think it helps. i feel like my belly is not big enough yet that a maternity belt would make a difference.

Re: maternity support advice

I experienced some sciatic pain awhile back...I just tried to keep my legs up as much as possible and take warm baths. Haven't had any problems in about a month or so

Re: maternity support advice

i had very bad discomfort starting at 20 weeks and recently got a maternity belt got it at the maternity works store aka motherhood for 15 dollars and i thought it worked great. i felt instant relief and use it every day. you can try them on at the store to see if you like it. i thought it was so worth it. my back hurt somuch i felt like i couldnt walk some days.

Re: maternity support advice

I started having problems with siatica (sp?) right away, and i'm only in my 11th week. It's really freaking me out that this might last throughout. do you guys think one of these belts would do me any good if I don't have the belly yet? Does the belt support your back or is it to position your belly? thanks for any help you can provide. I'm totally clueless. Until I went to the Dr. I thought I had pulled a muscle!
