My Opera review
Hi Everyone! A few weeks ago i posted that my bf got us tix to the opera and I promised a review so.... : ) First off lemme say that my bf was sucha sweetie for the holidays.. turns out my mom got me the earrings I was dying 4 and thank god they had talked beforehand so they didnt both get me the same earrings!! LOL.. My bf ended up getting me the opera tix, a cute little tea kettle (I am a tea addict!) and the dvd/vcr player that I wanted for my bedroom.. AND he hates cards but he got me a hanukkah card (soooo sweet) LOL!! So last nite we went to the opera...We had sucha great time, first we had dinner at this adorable spanish restaurant (yummy food!!) that is rigth across from Lincoln Center..and then headed over to the show--it started at 7:30-- The title of the Opera was Die Fledermaus (for the girls that asked). Overall the show was great--AMAZING SINGING..and a beautiful back drop and costumes..the part that we did not like was how long it was... it started at 7:30 and we didnt get out of there until 11:15 b/c they had TWO intermisions that were each about 25 minutes.. IMO it kinda killed the mood that you were trying to "feel" ALSO..my bf did not like that although it was a German opera--and most of it WAS in German...there was ALOT in English... I had never been to the opera so that didnt bother me at all, but he said that kinda takes u out of the opera feeling.. I LOVED How each seat has the english verson and gist of what is going on in the story, and I liked the plot just wished it hadnt been sooo dragged out. There were 2 really good singing/dancing numbers tho.. We r gonna try and go see another opera in the summer : ) ANy questions feel free to fm me!

Re: My Opera review
Nice! I went to 2 of them and I loved them too. Long, but something you don't get to do every day.

Aww, I wish I knew beforehand what you were going to see, I could have told you it was long! I'm so glad you liked it. I really love opera, and I try to teach my kids at school a lot about it, and explain the symbolism behind it to get them into, too. Glad to hear you enjoyed it, and sounds like you have an awesome bf!!!!!
