Need opinions once again on travel systems...

What do you think we should do?

I dont like to drive much and when I do, its not very far at all. If anything it would be around the neighborhood to stores, doctors appointments, etc. My husband is the one who drives on long trips, or to the island (we are in Queens) and we use his truck.

With that being said, do you think we need a travel system? Or do you think I should just get a car seat and a stroller for my car and a travel system for dhs car for longer trips? I dont know what to do at all! I am so torn but I am thinking if I am going to be walking most places, a travel system will be a waste of money...what do you think?

I would get a travel system and extra base... 1 stroller, 1 car seat and 2 places to put it

Re: Need opinions once again on travel systems...

The one thing I find with travel systems is that they have more compartment room. The storage basket is bigger, they have cupholders and compartments for keys and stuff. I am also a big walker and prefer my graco travel system because I can put my diaper bag in the huge basket and any other bags I get from shopping. Sometimes I find the bulkiness to be a pain, but I deal with it since I get so much more room to store things.

I also use my travel system constantly. You could just get regular car seats and a different stroller --- the baby doesn't HAVE to be in an infant seat, most regular car seats like the britax go from infancy up as long as they are rear facing, but when I was searching for a regular stroller I found that most didn't have all of the features that the one that came with the travel system did.

I could have written this myself Chat Icon
Except mine is Evenflo, but Gracos are VERY similar. The amount of storage I have is great, and its worth an extra pound of lifting.
Ive tried other brand strollers, lighter weight ones, "better brands", and none has made me happier! Smaller baskets, cheesy "cup holders", just lack of comfy space for mommy.

and Noreen, if you walk alot, this space will be a MUST more for a walker than someone who drives more, kwim? Stick withthe travel system. Are they really that much more expensive? I still think since you need both the carseat and the stroller anyway, theyre prob cheaper, and they go as a set.

so true! I also have a Maclaren umbrella stroller and I really don't like it as much as I do my big bullky Graco travel system. I also found that when they are little tey really can't seat to comfy in the umbrella stroller as they do in the big Graco one.

Another GREAT thing is you just pop the car seat out and move baby instead of taking him/her out of the seat and waking them
