Swollen Feet & Burning??

I am 28 weeks and my feet/ankles are really swollen.

Since I have had the swelling I have noticed that the tops of my feet and ankles "burn".

Anyone else feel this? I don't even know if one is the cause of the other.

It's probably the skin stretching. Happens to me, too.

UM, No! I wish I did! Maybe moisturize them. I wouldn't know if it works because I can't reach my feet anymoreChat Icon

My doc told me that there is NOTHING we can do. He said putting your feet up is only a temporary solution. He also said cutting out salt is an old wives tale.
I found that putting my feet in a bucket of cold water with ice cubes is the only relief I can find.
I bought the ugliest sneakers, but they are open enough to not totally KILL my feet!

I wish this part of the pregnancy was over...my feet and legs look disgusting! I can't even imagine how I am going to go to the two weddings I am invited to this summer!

NOTHING has worked for me.

I just got back from the store I had to buy a pair of double wide sandals to wear b/c NONE of my shoes, even flip flops fit me.

At least I am not alone!

Flip flops are becomming really tight on me as well, and only my old broken in ones fit.

I try and keep my feet up as much as possible, but I discovered that doesn't work.

I really wonder how I am going to make it to August!!

Re: Swollen Feet & Burning??

ugh. I am having the same problem. especially now that the heat has started to kick in. they seem to be getting worse every day. My dr said to keep them up as much as possible. it doesnt seem to work very much. It gets them down temporaily but the minute I get up and walk around - they swell again. even my flip flops are leaving big welts!!! now I know what they mean by barefoot and pregnant..we have no choice!Chat Icon

Chat Icon I am right there with you, only I don't have the burning. I called my doctor about it today, because I am only 21 1/2 weeks along, and I thought that this was supposed to happen much later on in pregnancy. She said that it is totally normal, and there is nothing that can be done about it, and the heat and humidity are probablly making it worse. She told me to buy a larger shoe size.
