The baby is SO low - I need advice

The baby is so low today - I feel him/her when I walk and climb stairs. It's freaking me out. I've noticed there isn't as much movement as there was yesterday either.

I'm scared...can anyone reassure me...has this happened to you and/or is this normal?

I'm only 19 weeks...so its not like the baby is dropping because Im at the end or anything.

My baby is always low too. I am 27 weeks but when I went for my 20 week sonogram, the tech had to keep putting that thing lower and lower on my belly because I guess I just carry low. Its ok. Many people carry low.

I guess I should also say that I've been carrying high - or at least 'normal' up until today. When I woke up the baby was so low.

Call the doctor for re assurance. I know I used to feel my baby kick so low it was strange. YOur doc should let you come in to make your mind at ease. ALso, movement is not as consistent this early on - 19 weeks the baby is too small. dont worry you will be fine

I felt some pain while I was sitting on the train this morning - in my lower abdomen. I never felt that before either. It was painful enough that I said "ouch" outloud.

Maybe the baby was just moving?

My girlfriend had this with her first child. She swore that when he moved around his arm or leg was going to pop out from between her legs. Chat Icon I'd call your doctor to make yourself feel better, but the babies flip around a lot at this stage, since they still have the room to move around.

Feel better! Chat Icon

THe baby probably just flipped but like the others said call the Doc. for reassurance!! My daughter went low and stayed there early on. I guess she felt cozy down there.

Re: The baby is SO low - I need advice

I called my OB and told them what happened...they said if I start spotting or anything to go to the ER or call the service. But she said its probably just the baby moving. But if Im worried and still feel the same way in the morning, to come in at 9am when they open.

Im not reassured at all from talking with the nurse...she was rushing me off the phone too...and said "well you're not feeling the baby yet its too small" I told her no, I've been feeling the baby move for weeks. Ugh...

I know its aggravating. My best friend works there too - but she was off today. I think Im going to call her at home for some advice. Not only is she a nurse but she's had 2 babies already so she knows whats going on.

Thats what I would do if it makes you feel better!! You have all the right in the world to question things that are going on and to be put at ease when worried!! That is their job!! Or at least its suposed to be!! Again I am sorry this has happened to you!!! Let us know how you are doing and what your friend says!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

When you get home either lay down with feet up or drink something sweet if you have not felt the baby move... Sometimes this is helpful..

I am sorry you are feeling this way right now. At least they told you that you can go to their office early in the morning. I would go home and lie down and either drink a glass of OJ or eat a piece of chocolate, this way you will feel your little one move.
