Toddlers moms - classmates bday parties Question

If one of my boys is invited to his classmates' bday party (at a play place), is it ok to bring his brother? when I RSVP do I say his little brother will be there too ?
I dont mind bringing just the one that was invited, but we might be headed somewhere directly after the party, and it makes the most sense if we all go...

If one of my kids has a party, I just bring the one that was invited. I usually leave my other kids with their dad or with someone else at home. I would feel bad having the child's mom having to pay extra for my other child, you know? who knows, maybe when you call to RSVP, the child's mom will extend the invitation and ask that you bring your other child?

Nope. I always leave Maddie at home. I don't want to burden the parents with paying for another child. It may be different if it was a house party.

On the other hand, if it were me, I would be more than happy to include a sibling. Maddie is in tears from being excluded every weekend.Chat Icon

No..you should only bring the child that was invited, unless the other baby is a small infant. Many places will charge per child and you can't tell a sibling they can't play too or get a goodie bag too.

Re: Toddlers moms - classmates bday parties Question

I always bring my second child, but he's only a baby and is not included in the party fees or activities. If your other child is old enough to actively participate in the party, but wasn't invited, I wouldn't bring him/her.

Re: Toddlers moms - classmates bday parties Question

THanks ladies. My little one (2) is def "too old" to be just a tagalong sibling, and although Id compensate for his being there if I truly HAD to bring him, I dont feel right, being that Im not close to this mom. We havent really crossed paths much over the school year.

So one of us will go shopping with the little one while one watches and plays with big brother at the party, and shopping is NOO problem for me Chat Icon

thanks girls. I can always get good advice here Chat Icon

Re: Toddlers moms - classmates bday parties Question

I wouldnt...I suppose if I was in a situation with no one to watch the younger one or knew the parent well, I'd consider asking if it was OK but otherwise I definitely think its generally a non-sibling invite.
