What;s a good place for dinner in the old town of Huntington??

We'll be on LI for the weekend so I thought DH and I might go out for a nice/fun dinner. I am clueless on restaurants out there since I haven't lived on LI in ages-- no steak places though!! Chat Icon

Re: What;s a good place for dinner in the old town of Huntington??

there's

Italian: Cirillo's in Melville on Route 110
J & J's in Huntington on New York Ave, by the fire house
Tuto Pazzo-across from Harbor Club in the village

Seafood-Rockfish next to Finley's
Blue Hanu (sp?)-on New York Ave about a block before Main St

Pub Food--Meehan's on New York Ave before Blue Hanu
FH Riley's--on New York Ave just as you enter the village on the right

Chinese: Manarin Gourmet (YUMMY!!!!!) on New York Ave, past main street heading towards Harbor Club on the left hand side.
Dragon Gate-on Main St, on the other side of Lion in the Sun....

Someone recommended Besito to me and my sister's and I are going there next weekend. It's Mexican - I believe the same owners as Blue Honu.

This is Mexican and very good!!! I don't like Blue Hanu...don't think it's worth the hype or the money. If you really want to treat yourself, go to Bravo Nader....Probably some of the best italian food I ever had. On the cheaper side, Sal D's in Southdown is excellent. The Mill Pond House in Centerport is one of my favorites.

This was recommended to me by my Executive Director also. I've been meaning to try it out.

Besito is excellent - call now to see about reservations (they book up quickly).

I wasn't all that thrilled with Bravo Nader - it wasn't the worst Italian, but it certainly wasn't the best. It was disappointing, imo.

34 New Street is decent...

Canterbury's is good for pub food...

Blue Honu (but keep in mind they don't take reservations)

Besito

ETA: as someone else mentioned, Rockfish!
Tom Schaudel is one of the owners and his restaurants are known for their excellent food and fun atmosphere! Rockfish has a large outdoor eating area and bar.
