Need words of new hope and prayer--and to vent

Hi everyone,

I need to vent...I went to the office today for a sono on my twins..I am only 7 weeks pregnant. I was told I can hear the heartbeats today.
It turned out they were still too tiny but the tech got heartbeats..two of them.
I was then told one embryo was developing slower then the other, about 6 days behind.
It can either catch up and be ok, because it might have just implanted later then the other or not be ok and pass away
It wouldn't suck so bad if I didn't know they both have a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong--it would suck no matter what but if it was never viable maybe just maybe I can handle it.
Anyhow..has anyone else had this?
Is it usually normal if one if bigger then the other anyhow? I was passed from them to the gyno now and my appt was in two weeks, I called back and said I realized its kind of far away and I want a sono next Monday which they did for me.
Who the heck wants to wait a week and worry>

I had the same problem at that stage. Baby B was measuring far behind and a weaker heartbeat. I was convinced it was a late implanter, because I had implanation bleeding the day before my beta.
By 12-14 weeks, Baby B caught up and was only a day behind.
Im now 33 weeks PG with tiwn biys and both are measuring exactly the same.
If you want a sono, done earlier, then demand your RE do it.

I did the the post with Theresa and I feel its a sign and we both will be ok-
She has the same exact due date as me...

Hi,

I'm here. My DH is "king of internet research" and as soon as I told him he apparently dropped everything at work and spent the next two hours researching this.

Turns out this is not uncommon at all. Often, even this early, there is one twin a little bit behind the other. Later on, some weigh more than the other, now one's heartbeat is a bit stronger than the other.
The doctor said that they are in two different sacs which makes their chances better. Apparently, when they are in the same sac, and they have to share, it's easier for one to "crowd out" the other... but not always.

We've decided that the best thing to do is not to worry about it. Being stressed out is not going to help the little guys and might even make the problem worse.

I'm going to rest as much as I can and I go back next Wednesday. Eating right and resting is about all I can do... and pray too.

We didn't tell anyone else about this, especially the grandparents. A week from now the little bugger could catch up and all of that stress on them will be for nothing.

I hope that Diane's and Theresa's post gives you some hope. You shouldn't have a problem getting another sonogram considering what your doc has told you and if they refuse, demand it!

I had this happen also...unfortunately....baby B did not make it and the HB faded leaving only baby A. I was very upset at first...but in the longrun, I am grateful for baby A and that she is thriving and doing well, and everything else during this pregnancy has been normal. My RE told me that this was common, and referred to it as a "disappearing twin", in that it just faded into the background at around 10-11 weeks.

I hope you got some hope from the majority of these posts. I'm praying for you. I'm sure everything will turn out fine, just be positive. The babies can feel your vibes and if you're sad or stressed, they can be too. Positive thoughts! They will both be fine!!
