Pumping at work
I want to nurse the baby can anyone recommend a quiet pump with a carrying case that is not over $200.00 I registerd for the Avent Isis Uno Handheld it was 149.99 now I am wondering if I should change it but I cant believe how expensive they are. I want to pump and store it at work PLEASE Help!!

From everything I have read if you are returning to work full time and want to pump you need one of the expensive pumps to help keep your supply up and to let you pump in a reasonable amount of time. Just think of it this way -- your spending a lot on the pump, but it's still less expensive than buying formula and it's the best thing you can do for your baby!

If you are going to be mostly pumping your best bet is to rent a hospital grade pump.
If you do decide to buy you might want to wait and make sure you will definitely be nursing/pumping. I am pretty sure you can't return pumps. Not 100% on that though.

I have the Medela Backpack Pump.... its costly..but worth it if you plan to pump alot. That was the advice I got from tons of people when I inquired about what pump to buy. I also registered for it and received it as a gift at my shower. It might help if you do that!

my hospital has a breast feeding center that sells the hospital ones for $200... maybe yours does something similar?

Have you checked with your insurance carrier to see if they will cover all/part of the cost of a pump? If not, I'd recommend doing so. My cousin's Pump In Style was covered 100% because her doc wrote a script for it and she bought it at the pharmacy.

Money is no object when you want to pump at work. You need a really good electric pump that will extract the most. Don't worry about the moany - you will get your monies worth.
The Pump in Style is what I used and was suggested by my lactaion specailist. At first I was using a cheaper model and it took so long - which is not cool for work... This pump is more but again, you will get your monies worth and if you have more than one - it's worth the investment.
You could rent one and then buy one after you see if you like it...just a suggestion.

I have the same one and it works great. I used the 20% coupon from BBB to buy it and save a lot of money. I was hesitant to spend so much, but it's really worth it. Plus, You save so much on formula.

I would suggest nursing for the first months to make sure it's working out before getting a pump.
I agree the backpack Pump in Style is the way to go. I loved mine, quick, quiet (I put the pump in a drawer at work).

Thank you for helping me out I was hesitating on the expense of the pump but it is important. I nursed my daughter 5 years ago but I was also a stay at home mother so I did not need a good pump just a basic one. So I registered for the Pump in style original I did not see much of a difference between the advanced so I opted for the Original. And I will look into my health insurance to see if they cover it.
