What's a nice bottle of wine to give as a gift?
I'm not looking to spend too much $$$$ and would like to buy something even if they are not big drinkers. (social drinkers)

the yellow tail wines are pretty good and not too expensive.
theres another one- little penguin thats pretty good!
I just had the Pindar winter white the other day and that was good! and cheap!

I don't know maybe $10.00-$15.00  I'm making a basket with wine glasses, a picture frame and candles.

2. Ruffino Chianti Classico - Tan label - $25 - $35
3. Ruffino Chianti Classico - Gold label - $40 - $50

Well i am a white wine kinda gal...
And i know primarily only LI wines but i would go with a nice Laurel Lake Riesling
OR
if you want a different kinda red....Pindars Sweet Scarlet.
If you want something different, like a dessert wine:
Opsrey Dominion makes a peach wine and a Spice wine

Good Luck.
My father primarily drinks the Ruffino Tan label - he buys it by the case For a holiday we'll have the gold label. The St. Francis is nice too, I had it at the Westbury Manor for the first time a few years ago. For white, I normally drink the Yellow Tail Chardonnay or the Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio.
They are all good gifts for someone.

I'm a red wine drinker...Ravenswood makes a great Zinfandel - goes with everything from pizza to (if it's your thing) meat.
My current favorite is Pinot Noir...Blackstone makes a good one.

I also like the Blackstone Pinot Noir.
Not for everyone though, but definitely for a red-wine enthusiast.

Hands down Ruffino tan label- I hate red wine but this wine is sooooo smooth and yummy
for a dessert wine I cant remember if its duckwalk or pindar that has a good one called Aphrodite. boy is that good!!

If I don't know their preference, I do a red and a white. What about doing a local wine that they might not know of? Some stores carry local LI wines.
