Those with Dining Rooms that have Chair rails, and/or the Box trim that goes under the chair rail
Please post the pics here.
In the dining room we are planning to paint the upper part of the wall dark red, then put a chair rail painted White, and on the bottom of the chari rail, the walls will be a beige color...and then we are putting box trim under the hand rail and painting the trim white, and either leaving the inside of the boxes beige or painting them the red color.....
What do you think, should we paint the inside of the boxes red or beige?

we just did red with a white chair rail and beige underneath, I love how it looks. will take pics and post tomorrow or thursday.

we don't have a traditional chair rail but we do have molding and wainscotting. basically the same thing (color wise) that you are interested in doing.
ETA: i would paint the trim all the same color (white or ivory, we used BM timid white). paint the top a marroon/red and the bottom (inside boxes) beige/tan. our ceiling is painted the same color as the trim.

I think you should keep it beige!!

Check out our before and afters on the before and after's.
Maybe you can try a couple of boxes and if you don't like the look you can repaint them. I would try all cream first, then try painting the inside red if your not thrilled with the all cream and pick a spot behind your china to experiment, this way if you can cover it if you like. Yes, I'm a LITTLE lazy.
