I don't know all the details YET but I think if you are betting on a sport other than the sport you are employeed in then it shouldn't really matter.
Let me read up on it though and see if I still feel the same.

and his wife seems to be wrapped up in it
i think they are BOTH guilty
AND i am finding it very hard that Wayne didn't know anything

I have to say I think that its good to bring it to the public eye, but it wont stop it, and its not unusual at all.
BUT since I gamble myself on sports, I dont really care. They( wives, managers, etc) truly have about the same amount of "backstage" info as sports reporters who LEAD the gambling game...
Sports teams are just like any other organization. you have the good and the bad people, the coroption etc....
Do I think those involved are less sportsman like because of their behavior...yes I do...do I still think wayne gretsky is one of the best hockey players of all times, yes of course.
His reputation will not be tarnished by this, of that Im sure, whether I agree or not I dont know....I dont care much though, and thats weird, but also evident of the public view, because its almost a lost story already....

Well, I'm fairly sure that his marriage is a lot different than the people on this Board--in that she lives full-time in LA and he lives full-time in Phoenix. So, at this point, they're just 2 millionaires married in name only. His quotes throwing her under the bus ("it's not me, I'm not involved") basically prove that.
