Washer and dryer on the 2nd floor

Now that we are renovating, I'd really like to have the washer and dryer upstairs, rather than lugging the laundry down to the basement.

Does anyone have theirs on the 2nd floor and have you ever had problems with it?

Re: Washer and dryer on the 2nd floor

I've heard 2 cases where they have leaked and ruined the floor of the second floor and the ceiling of the first floor. I'm sorry that's probably not what you wanted to hear but you should know the pros and cons. Chat Icon

Re: Washer and dryer on the 2nd floor

You should have a drain and floor where the washer and dryer are located should be sloped slightly towards the drain so if there's ever a leak, there wouldn't be a problem.

Re: Washer and dryer on the 2nd floor

Would love to have had it on the main level of the house, I'm sure it would be easier with kids. Ours in the basement, but it's not so bad since we have a finished basement and spend the majority of our time there.
