Bf ing moms.. quetion
I feel like i am pumping soo much milk. How woud you suggest i work this as far as freezing some. She gets about 6 bottles a day , 1 being a formula bottle and i have so much milk in my fridge whch i know is only good for four days. Shoud i pump and frereeze one session a day or more than that. TIA

It depends how much you would like frozen......I would just freeze whatever you pump. When you are ready to feed from your frozen supply just put the bag in hot water for about 5 minutes and it will defrost. That was you know it won't go bad in the fridge.

I would freeze anything that I would not use in 3 days time. So I typically made enough milk for all of her bottles plus 1, maybe 2 more. At the end of each day I would freeze whatever would not be used the next day. I used ONLY the ziptop type breastmilk storage bags and dated them. Lay them FLAT in the freezer. I had a freezer unit, not part of the frig, so it lasts a long time. Each week I would defrost 1-3 bags and use them and replace with new BM. ONLY freeze in small portions. You don't want to have to throw any away. I froze in 2oz when she was little then 4oz as she got older. www.kellymom.com has great references for how long the BM can be left in frig, freezer etc..
