Ours get along very good which we are grateful for. It makes no sense to be bickering it only creates tension in the marriage. Whenever there is celebration both sides of family come together as one.

nope....
My parents are not too fond of my MIL after something that happened at my baby shower.... My mom can be friendly with her when need be... however my dad.... just cant fake it....
No prob with my FIL though... my parents, and my FIL are cordial to eachother.
Same with me!!

um, no. Not even a little. My ILs are very mean to my mom b/c they are super-catholic & they think she is a *failure* because she is divorced.

The only one that makes things awkward is my stepmother. My dad and MIL are very easygoing, but my stepmother just seems to turn her nose up at everyone (likes she's too good for us). It's very uncomfortable for me.

get along? Mine get along fine, but I'm still not completely comfortable when we all get together. Sometimes conversations are strained and I feel like I have to keep it moving. They are very different from eachother. Anyone else?
Exactly the same!
My parents are 10yrs younger than Dh's so conversation is limited and they seem to talk to me/Dh more than them.
Its ok, cant force something. They do like each other and respect them.

No...they have nothing in common and FIL does not socialize with them AT ALL. Won't even address them (he's a rude SOB to begin with ). My Mom can't stand MIL because of all the water under the bridge so she does her best at all costs to avoid any social interaction with them.

They get along really good. My mom has gone away with MIL and now they spend Christmas Eve with my family (since DH's family celebrates Christmas Day). Since we are expecting, they talk on the phone a lot and get together for dinner about once a month. It's nice...I hear horror stories from my friends.....

They get along really well. We spend all holidays together too which is great so DH and I don't have to chose which one we'll go to or run around to see both sides.
