if you get your hair cut and colored for free... (a friend does it) how much should you tip?

usually my fsil does it for me..she wont let me tip her, but i usually leave her 10....she will get mad if i leave more than that..
last time my friend did it..i tiped her 20.

Considering that a normal cut and color is about 130-150, then I would tip 20-30. So depending on who it was, I would slip them 25 and if they didn't accept it, I would get them a gift of some kind.

I agree with missjones...$25-30 for the stylist or a small gift if she won't take $$ from a friend.
If anyone else at the salon does something for you I would tip them the same as you normally would if you paying ($5 for shampoo person etc.)

I always liked to just get back what I spent on the product when I did peoples hair, for coloring stuff anywhere be $10-$30 sometimes to cover the cost depending on what I did.

my friend colors my hair..I give her the $$$ for all the stuff...and she refuses to except any other money..
She comes to my house...so I usually cook her dinner that night... and make some kinda yummy desert!
