Question regarding inspection tickets?

My husband parks at the train station and didnt realize his inspection was expired so they gave him a ticket. Does he still have to pay for the ticket if he gets the inspection done on Saturday. I think he just mails in the inspection receipt with the ticket but I wasn't sure if that was right. Thanks.

i think they usually give you a "grace period"...not sure how long, but if the work is done soon after having received the ticket, i *think* it's dismissed or reduced at least.
