Quick, what does rotten, raw chicken smell like?
Ugh, I took chicken out to defrost last night then never cooked it, just put it in the fridge. Went to go cook it now and I think it smells funny But it could be hormonal because most things smell funny these days

I can't exactly describe it, but it is VERY distinct. On the occasions that I have smelled spoiled raw chicken, there was NO doubt that it was bad.

Yeah, I probably should, however, that will leave me with rice for dinner. JT doesn't think it smells weird, but what does he know? He's a boy.

Good chicken shouldn't really smell, but rotten chicken definately smells!

OK, I just found my answer online. It smelled like sulfur for a minute, then it didn't smell anymore, and supposedly that is normal. Go figure.

if you took out last night to cook today and it was in the fridge....it's ok. I take stuff out the night before and leave it in the fridge all the time. If you left it on the counter it'd be gross.
best methods of defrosting are in the fridge or microwave
