I think its a combo...we need more men and woman out there patroling but better technology to help them do thier jobs

My BIL USED to be Border Patrol in Texas and man the stories he tells us! We def. need more men and women watching that line!

I say man power- but not b/c it needs to be on border patrol- but b/c they need to be going after the companies- without employment- not that many would be coming over!

Here's what will probably be one of the least popular opinions. I think it's more important to open the border.
Open the borders, allow free trade, legalize drugs and end welfare. It's just a start but what a difference it would make.

Wow, that's a tall order! I definitely agree for sure about ending welfare- it does no good for anyone. But then in turn the schools would have to improve, and while I also fully support that as a teacher, it's much easier said than done.
My concern with opening the borders are these: more criminals, etc. would take advantage, and it's not a worry now, but down the line, will our economy/resources support all the people coming into the country? There are some skilled workers coming in, but it seems like most of them are unskilled, and there's only so much work for them.
To answer the original question, I think a combination of man power and tech is needed.

Well if we legalized drugs a good part of the criminal world would disappear. Take away black and grey markets and much of crime disappears.
If our economy won't support all of the people coming here - they won't want to come here.
I agree much of the resources should be re-directed into the schools.
