Re: Question about Belly Button Piercing

Mine didn't affect my wedding dress whatsoever. If you want it, get it! Just get it sooner rather than later so that it has time to heal.

Re: Question about Belly Button Piercing

K, I got mine when I was 25 and it was one pain in the azz... it took about 6 months to heal and it would snag on everything.

Since I went through it... I would say bad idea to get it before your wedding with the dress and then the honeymoon.. if things go wrong with it you don't want to be in pain.

I am sure some people had no problem at all with it.. but I had major problems.

I suggest if you're going to do it, do it now. It's sore for at least a week after you do it. Just take care of it and clean it as instructed and you should have no problems.

Mine wasn't even an issue with my dress or with anything that I wear.

Shouldn't affect your dress at all and by then, even if it does for some odd reason, you'd be healed enough that you could take it out for a day if you needed to.

Do it now!

I agree, and it didn't bother me in my gown also.

Re: Question about Belly Button Piercing

Definitely go for it! Unfortunately the place that did mine didn't do it properly and I was in SO much pain. I didn't do research before I got mine done...make sure you do!

Mine didn't bother me in my dress at all. I had it for two years prior to wearing it.

Re: Question about Belly Button Piercing

I've had mine for almost 8 years. I usually forget about- it never catches on my clothes. I didn't have any problems with it in regards to my wedding dress. Just make sure, if u decide to do it, get it at least a few months before so that you give it a chance to heal.

Just one thing to keep in mind if you're planning on TTC somewhere in the near future... I have heard and seen instances where the hole stretches during pregnancy and never 100% goes back to normal. Perhaps some of the ladies who have had it can share their experiences with that. I had one and removed it long before I was TTC.

I had mine in until I was about 4-5 months PG and it did not stretch at all - but by that point it became uncomfortable and I couldn't take it anymore. I have a small dot scar where the peircing was but thats it. Plus I feel after you have kids you don't show your belly off all that much - at least I don't Chat Icon

Funny story kind of off topic...

My friend had both her nipples pierced, she took them out once she found out she was pg but they never fully healed and milk would come out of all 3 holes in each boob!Chat Icon

It kind of worked out thou because she had twins an was able to feed them both fast and efficiently!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Mine is pierced and I have never had problems with it. I would suggest doing it soon so that it has time to heal before your wedding.

Re: Question about Belly Button Piercing

I've had mine for about 10 years and I barely even know it's there! It definitely does not bother any clothes. I actually want to take it out now, but I can't (DH and I have tried to, but it won't budge). If you've taken it out, how did you do it?

Is it that you cannot get the ball unscrewed? if that is the case you can use a pair of wire cutters to snip the ring.

Re: Question about Belly Button Piercing

Yeah, the ball won't unscrew. We tried wire cutters and nothing happened. I guess they weren't good wire cutters!

The ball probably isn't a screw. Instead of cutting the hoop- try to bend it with pliers and the ball should pop out.

Re: Question about Belly Button Piercing

My belly button ring didn't bother me at all on our wedding day, but I've had it for a few years already. It hurt like heck in the beginning though, so unless you're getting it this weekend, I'd wait until after the wedding. Then you can say it was a wedding gift to yourself!
