Anyone ever get a "false low" on glucose test?
I had my yearly physical and I asked them to fax the report to me... on it I saw that my glucose level was 32! I dont have diabetes, always had a normal glucose level... the dr said that it was a false low and sometimes happens w/ contamination... but now I'm freaked out!!

I've never had a false low, I'm low b/c of hypogylycemia. Which number was low, the one that test immediate, or the that tests your level over the past few weeks?

I dont know... I gave my blood (fasting) and they did all of the tests that they normally do...

I wouldn't freak out...just repeat the test!
He said it can be a false neg, also, glucose can fluctuate. I wouldn't worry too much

I have diabetes and if you had a 32 you would most likely be passed out!! It has to be a false low.

When I get anywhere near 60 I get the shakes and start sweating like mad, 32 would be scary.

Oh... that makes me feel better... not that you get shakes and sweat, just that it had to be false...
When I responded I didn't even look at the number! haha duh! I'm hypoglycemic and my # is in the 60-75 range most of the time, if you were really down to 32 you'd know it!!!
