Clomid Question...
So I've started my 3rd round of 50mg of Clomid.
For the last 2 rounds I've had crazy hot flashes, night sweats and emotional swings.
This month, nothing. Not a single symptom.
They only thing I've changed is I started taking some supplements (Red Raspberry and Alfalfa). Nothing else has changed at all.
Could those supplements be off setting the symptoms or do they just go away after a while? I always read that the symptoms got worse with each cycle.
Any insight is appreciated.

Yes, you can take alfalfa and red raspberry while on clomid. Alfalfa is really a supplment for green vegetables. It's highly alkaleine and helps the cm become more more sperm friendly....and increases the amount. Red raspberry, strengthens the uterus and is good prior to pg and during pg.
Clomid is a med that fools the body into believing that the estrogen supply is low, so that your fsh takes over and speeds up the follicular growth. Basically wherever there are estrogen tissue receptors, clomid affects. Therefore, it can thin your lining, because the lining of your uterus has estrogen receptors, it can make your boobs ache, because you have estrogen receptors in your breast tissue, and it can interfere with cervical mucus because your cervix has estrogen receptors ....etc etc.
I think the alfalfa will help you to avoid cm issues that you may have with clomid. Personally, I stop using alfalfa, once I o'd. Since I take it just to help with CM. The red raspberry can also help strengthen the uterus in case there is a lining issue. Many doctors also tell their patients to use baby asprin for this as well.
As far as the side effects go, I am not sure why, they subsided, but maybe your body is getting used to the med. They say it can take a few cycles for your body to accomodate it. I hope you have great follies this cycle, and tons of baby dust :)
I just wanted to add, that Femara, is considered a SERM...which is a selective estrogen receptor moderator, it only interacts with certain tissues that have estrogen receptors, like breast tissue and ovarian tissue (hence follicular growth). It doesn't interfere with the lining or the CM. That's why some doctors consider it a safer med.
Another interesting fact is that clomid stays in the bloodstream for quite some time, up to 6-8 weeks past the dosage period. Some women who didn't ovulate on their own, have ovulated the cycle after clomid use and have gotten pregnant. Femara, leaves the bloodstream when the dose is done, so femara probably wouldn't affect the next cycle the same way.
It's important to know which med you feel is best for you :)
