I was under the impression that diet soda was off limits all through pregnany because of the additives in it. I would check with the doctor.

Hey Bean!
My doctor had said that one DC a day was ok, but to try not to have it. I stopped all nutrasweet, but I know people who have had it...maybe just try sips.
Sometimes I buy a regular coke and poor 1/2 in a cup and throw it out..just to get a taste, but not go crazy.....
it is hard though! I was so addicted to DC.

I have gestational diabetes and so straight sugar is pretty much off-limits to me, as are sweetened sodas, fruit juices, iced teas, etc. My nutritionist and my doctor both recommend that I drink things that have splenda in them, if I don't feel like water once in a while. They said that splenda is very safe. I know a lot of diet sodas are made with splenda now.
Of the sweeteners, I was told that Sweet N Low passes through the placenta directly so it's the worst. But equal isn't so bad and splenda is the best choice.

I'm not a huge soda person, but I probably will have a diet soda once a week. I went crazy on Saturday at a wedding and had two!! As far as I'm concerned (and my doctor) mostly everything is fine in moderation.
