Logan's Birth Story (long and may be TMI)
As some of you may know, I went into the hospital on Friday the 23rd for bloodwork/NST for possible preeclampsia. I was discharged that night and went home. X-mas weekend I was still swollen and by monday my DH and mom were hounding me to call and check in with my doctor. SUre enough on Monday night I paged him and he called me back from the hospital. He said "I am admitting you tonight and inducing you tomorrow. " I have to admit, as excited as I should have been, I also was scared #$%^ l e s s!!! It was time. To make a not so long story short : 10:30 they gave me cervidil to soften the cervix and I was 1-2 cm. Cervidil does not induce labor, they were going to give me pitocin @ 10:30 am to start labor. However, my body had a mind of its own and at 3 am till 6 am my contractions were growing stronger and stronger. A resident examined me and I was still only 3cm. He gave me inside information also: there were 3 scheduled c-sections that morning so it was get your epi now or never. I went with "now" and it was the best thing I have ever done! By 9:30 I was 6-7 cm, by 10:30 I was a "rim" and by noon there was an 8lb.7oz. baby boy...Logan Shawn. I never felt the episotomy or stitches and he is my little angel. I am so in LOVE. Motherhood is terrific!
