to all my amazing friends on lif.. (job update plus new challenge w/ advice needed) long..

Hi Everyone...

Can I first say that i really love all you guys, Its insane how I feel sooo close to everyone on these boards and kno that every1 cares about me, that when I was soo upset I knew if I posted on LIF u guys would be helpful, and supportive, caring and understanding, and I cant say thank you enough. Im practically crying writing this cause it amazes me how I have come to rely on my LIF friends, some of who I have never even met yet truly care about and consider close to my heart...
Thank you for the amazing well wishes in the earlier thread and words of encouragement!

It amazes me that between breakups and new loves, old jobs and scary new ones ur all there for me time and time again, who knew a website could do all these amazingt hings for me...

But anyways on another note.. my day was ok considering I slept for one hr last nite--I just proved we truly dont need sleep LOL.. I got to work and tried to take in what every1 said. I did not stress, I paid attention and took it moment by moment. There are parts of the job I love--hrs, money, location and parts I hate--- a big portion of the job is accounting, contracts and vouchers, things I have never done, nor do i like and was never really told during the interview process that this would be sucha huge part of the job... but despite all that i tried my hardest all day even tho there were many moments in my mind that I am unsure if this is the "right" job for me...I am not a quitter and want to give 100% yet I want to be mainly happy for the job I am doing..

so here comes the dilemma, I come home from work and there are 2 messages for me about jobs... Jobs in the media and publishing industry (my major) that i had hoped would have called me b4 I took this job that i am having such confusion about... Both jobs r in the same salary base, benefits, and r in the city,---easy to transportation... So I set up interviews to go and see in person what they are all about.. Not sure if this is smart, but I dont want to have 'what ifs" or feel that I passed on a job opportunity when Im not sure If Im doing the right job for me now, the irony was that these calls for interviews occurred today of all days...

Time will tell what happens, and of course you kno I always keep you guys posted, advice, comments are welcome as always, and once again I really wanted to thank you guys, sometimes I feel ready to flip out when my LIF friends come to the rescuse..

WOW michi!! timing is everything huh!!

best of luck to you whatever you decide. but you're right about the "what ifs"..and you'd hate yourself in the long run for not even trying to pursue other opportunities!! i'm sure it will all work out for the best, and you will be AMAZING in whatever your decision is!!!!!

I would go to the interviews... Im a believer in whats meant to be will be....maybe you needed to experience this to show you its not what you want, or you will find out it is ok and you do want it.

Either way , I hope in the end it works out how you want it, or what makes you happiest!

Hey girl, I think that you should go to the interviews and take it from there.
Everything does happen for a reason so go with it.

I thought you didn't want to work in the city though? Isn't this job in Queens you have currently?

I would see what the other jobs have to say. never settle. get rid of the what if's now. Maybe you will love one of those jobs... or maybe it will solidify your resolve to stay at this one.

I wouldve set up the interview too, Just to get rid of those "What If's?"
