Have you heard of this? Checking one's OWN cervix?
I go on pregnancy.org sometimes to browse the september mom boards...well I was reading some posts recently about women checking their own cervix...I have never heard of this. NOW i don't plan on trying...I wouldn't know where to begin and would leave that to the doctor anyway...but just wondering out of curiosity if this was something that you've heard of??

Checking cervix while pg? I checked my cervix when I was charting while TTC and tried to check it once while pg. It was soo far up I couldn't reach it!

Yes, they were chatting about checking it while PG...one girl was saying how she could feel her baby's head...I just hadn't ever heard of this before. I would be too afraid personally...but it seemed that quite a few people had done it over there!

OMG! Towards the end they felt it? I did it around 20 weeks just out of curiousity. Wow, different, I would have freaked out if i felt the baby's head! I haven't heard about that either. I always thought about putting germs and stuff in there.

Umm I don't think you can feel your baby's head it is behind the cervix which is closed. People check their cervix's(sp?) because your cervical position may help determine when you will O. I don't do it-I can't figure out what position it's in but some do

It was one girl on the site who said she could feel her daughters head by doing this...let me try to find the link and post it, it was interesting but I coudln't get over it! I would freak out too if i could feel something.

I can barely wipe myself I don't see how these people can even reach up there! And how do they know what they are feeling, what is the purpose of that?

I have trouble shaving let alone getting up that far. I can imagine if I did try and check this is when my DH would walk in the room
