I used RTF for the first 6 months then switched to powder for 6 months and used only bottled water with it and I never had a problem.

Re: Using bottled water with powdered formula?

you can use bottled water -- we use boiled tap water ourselves -- boil a pot every day in an electric kettle and just keep it room temp on the counter.

Re: Using bottled water with powdered formula?

I was using bottled water in the beginning and then our peditrician suggested tap water was better because it contained flouride - so we stopped using it and have since started boiling water or using the BRITA.

On occasion or whenever we are out - I will use bottled water - and it hasn't been a problem.

Of course you can! After 3 months, the pediatrician told me I could start using warm tap water. I think we waited until 4 months for that, b/c it made me nervous...

Did it all the time from the beginning. I have NEVER boiled water. I either used filtered water from the fridge or bottled water.

Re: Using bottled water with powdered formula?

I read in one of my baby magazines that you can use bottled water, but they said it is not sterilized so you still need to sterilize it.

Re: Using bottled water with powdered formula?

I was using bottled water for about 2months and then my ped told me that it can still have bacteria in it and that I should be boiling it, or using boiled tap water. I boil a tea kettle everynight and then just leave it room temp in a pitcher. In the morning I fill all his bottles and dump the extra, then when it's time to eat I just dump the powder in and shake. My ped also said not to use the nursery water until 6 months b/c too much floride isn't good for them early on.

ETA: If for some reason I don't have boiled water I would still use bottled water.
