Constipation and Juice

Kevin has been having some problems with constipation. Yesterday he had such a hard time making a BM and he cried for 15 minutes afterwards. We tried pear jucie but it aggrivated his reflux. The dr. said to try prune juice.

Should I dilute it or give it to him straight. He's not a big fan of juice...hated apple juice and just tolerated the pear juice. I'm not sure he'll drink the prune juice.

Any other tips for relieving constipation?

Re: Constipation and Juice

I would dilute it, juice can be a little tough on the bellies.\

Have you tried the thermometer and vaseline?

We gave our daughter prune juice when she was and the doctor said put it in her bottle. 2ozs of prune juice and 4 ozs of formula. It looks like a poopie bottle but it worked. She drank it.

Hope Kevin feels better soon!

Re: Constipation and Juice

When Nate was constipated I gave him apple juice diluted with equal parts of water. Within 2 hours he pooped.

Re: Constipation and Juice

A bottle of warm water works good to. And then if it doesn't work follow with a warm bath.

Jake's been constipated alot recently and though the pear juice worked for him maybe try diluting it with equal parts water and warming it up a tiny bit. Also, I agree that the warm bath helps.
