Teachers and School Employees!! Summer Job Question!
I know we're a looooong way off from next summer - but I was just curious how many of you worked in the summer and if you did, what do you do?
I worked at the beach this past summer but it's not as much fun as it sounds...6 days a week and always working on the weekends - I wish I could do my position there part-time in the summer, but it wouldn't really work!
I may work retail next summer.
Share what you do in the summer!

I teach a college biology course for 4 weeks out of the summer. I really enjoy it!

Youre in guidance right? I did high school summer school, and since they do not employ social workers over the summer, I was a Teachers Assistant.
I pushed into classes with Special Ed students. I was there to help them with the classwork. I pulled them out to administer their test modifications. Although I did not make what the teachers made, I had no prep or tests to mark.
I was hired through BOCES. And contributed to TRS over the summer.
I think my district does summer school also, but since its elementary, its on a much smaller scale. I might try to go back to the high school this summer.

Hmmm - that's an idea, Amy! I wouldn't mind being a guidance counselor in the summer - all high school summer schools have one - but since it's only one - it's always taken!

i teach at a summer enrichment program. I teach Kindergaten music for three hrs a day. easy money and a short day!!

I have to admit, its a long day. 8-1 in the district I worked, if they give you all three periods. Im not used to the attitude of the older ones, so I found it harder to connect with them. I didnt do it this past summer because I went to Hawaii and took some grad classes, but Im thinking about going back this summer.

I teach summeer school, but this will be my fisrt year off, because I will have my baby by then.
